Personal Testimony
I grew up in a church going family, but I did not accept Christ as my savior until I was 17. I went to all the church conferences but only to have fun and to meet new friends. My friend and I were planning to meet up at one of these conferences, but he never showed up, so I decided to leave. As I was walking away from the conference hall, I began to pray for the Lord’s guidance. I felt that I needed to go back.
At the conference, I saw many praising God and jumping for joy in worship, but I could not join them. Then on the last day, the preacher asked if any amongst us wanted to surrender their life to Christ. I decided to follow Christ then. The preacher prayed with me and anointed me with oil. When I returned to my seat, I could not stop myself from jumping with the rest as tears of joy streamed down my face.
After the conference, I wanted to share my experience with others, so I joined an outreach ministry. I attended a mission training school and served in many places in Sudan. Throughout my ministry, I felt the Church’s need for leaders who can move it towards missional work. That is why I am studying theology. My vision is to help spread the gospel and the love of Christ to others in Sudan and move the Church there towards a focus on mission. I want to teach and encourage others. Studying at seminary will help me be formed into a leader who has the technical skills and the spiritual awareness to help the Church in Sudan spread the Word of God.
